Sufiya Cheung

An MBA graduate of the University of Hong Kong, I never trained as an artist. But I've always had a head full of peculiar ideas, and a habit of hiding unspoken feelings in the lines of my brush. Twenty years in product development made me an urban wanderer — crossing borders, meeting designers with singular souls, watching the sun rise and set over streets I'd never see again. All of it quietly settled somewhere inside me. Then came 2021: the world stopped, time pooled, and my first creation was finally born — Yeah Yeah Cat. I love cats but I'm allergic, so I've spent a lifetime imagining I were one — watching the world through languid, unhurried eyes. My cats walk upright through the old Hong Kong of my memory, where childhood innocence meets the noise of today. They're here to polish the romance we've forgotten, and to bring back a warm, knowing smile.
