Chinese domestic consumption market grows steadily

According to the data by National Bureau of Statistics of China, the total amount of consumption is 2.9398 trillion and grows 15% comparing with the same period last year, pulling 4.3% of GDP in the first quarter. With the stable grow in shopping, food, travel and other traditional consumption markets, some new hot points of consumption grow up rapidly including digital products, animation products and games.
The construction of business distribution network in China goes rapidly

In order to promote consumption, Chinese regional governments are making great efforts to promote construction of commercial facility and advance the distribution network. By now, 279 prefecture-level cities and 116 country-level cities have done the plans for city commercial network, which will rapidly promote the increase of domestic consumption.
Nearly ten thousand CCC Certificates on toys have been issued


According to statistics from AQSIQ, 9015 3C Certificates have been issued to toy manufacturers till beginning of June 2009.

To ensure products quality, CNCA strengthens market regulation and supervision. 484 CCC Certificates from 270 toy manufacturers were revoked and 1489 CCC Certificates from 735 toy suppliers were suspended. In 2009, CNCA continues conduct check-up on products quality control which could be trace back in case of unqualified products.

Chinese government raises export tax rebates

To shore up toy export and to help reduce export cost for export-ready toy suppliers, China Toy Association has been making ongoing efforts. China raised export tax rebates on more than 2,600 items including toys. Tax rebates on toys were lifted to 15 percent, and baby strollers to 15 percent.
Three main toy categories export increased from January to May


Toy export from Jan to May adds up to USD2,278,467,672, descending by 14% in comparison with the same period in 2008. Export of traditional toys in May is USD 484,502,073, decling by 17% comparing with last month.

Export products including model assembly kits, construction sets and constructional toys achieved increase on total export value. Educational toys maintain almost the same export level.

Domestic retail market report on toys issued by CTA


As an import retail channel, department stores play a key role in toy retail market. To meet the increasing demands of the international toy brands and domestic toy manufacturers planning to expand in China toy market, China Toy Association has conducted survey on toy sales in nationwide department stores. Related retail sales report covers information on toy sale in major department stores in China. Other valuable information include toy retail sales in first tier, second tier and third tier cities and guides for entering China toy market.

Leaders of CTA attended ICTI meeting in Munchen


The 35th Annual General Meeting of the International Council of Toy Industries (ICTI) was held on June 8-9 in Munich, Germany. Representatives from 21 national toy associations convened to discuss issues affecting the industry throughout the world. President of CTA, Mr. Shi Xiaguang and vice president Ms.May Liang participated at the meeting as representatives from China toy industry. Mr. Meng Fanzhuang, the Economic and Commercial Counsellor in Munchen was invited to deliver speech at the meeting.

Highlights of this annual meeting include international toys safety standards, corporate social accountability and industry development in current economic social environment. Mr. Shi Xiaoguang, the president of CTA was elected as Director of ICTI, which strengthens key role of China in international toy industry.

Bigger scale than Canton Fair


According to the updated statistics by organizer of China Toy Expo, the expo 2009 will reach a new high with over 650 exhibitors and 1500 booths, which is bigger than the scale of Toy Pavilion at Canton Fair.

Different from Canton Fair, over 90% Chinese exhibitors are manufacturers in CTE with their own brand, design ability and OEM experience for big brands. By now, exhibitors in different categories have increased more comparing with last year, including model with 67% growth, baby strollers with 46% growth, educational toys with 38% growth, wooden toys with 20% growth and other toys with 12% growth at least.

Leading manufacturers already fixed their booths of CTE 2009

By now, the Chinese manufacturers of baby carriage from Shanghai, Ningbo, Pinghu, Kunshan and Zhongshan had attended the China Toy expo 2009. In this year, the scale of baby carriage has increased 46% with over 30% new exhibitors than the expo 2008. The manufacturers will take new products to CTE 2009 covering baby stroller, baby walker, tricycle and ride-on cars.

In order to make productive trip for buyers, the fair organizer will provide preview for new products in CTE 2009 from July. All the pre-registered buyers can receive the preview through email to know about product and design ability of exhibitors, by which buyers could find new suppliers effectively.

More buyers can enjoy the free service to make productive visit


Besides current services to pre-registered buyers, the organizer of China Toy Expo will provide upgrade service to buyers – VIP Buyer Booth at CTE 2009.

As the famous toy retailer in Chinese market, Toy R Us and King + Jouet already enjoyed this service at CTE 2008. With the free booth, they made a great success on introducing their policy of supplier evaluation system and also met and communicated with more qualified Chinese manufacturers.
