| China has made an effective response to India's ban on Chinese-made toys |
Since India released the ban on Chinese-made toys, China Toy Association (CTA), as representative of China toy industry, had collected the feedbacks and data from the exporting manufacturers via the website, e-letter, etc and reported to Chinese government the first time. The Chinese government attached great importance to this matter and negotiated with the government of India seriously to protect the industry interests.
Through the efforts from the government and CTA, India relaxed the ban to allow shipments certified by global safety agencies on March 2, weeks after the government had imposed wide-ranging curbs for six months.

Toy sales in Chinese domestic market were prosperous during the Spring Festival |
According to statistic of Ministry of commerce, sales of consumer goods in Chinese domestic market increased than last year during the spring festival. During the seven-day holiday, the total volume was 290 billion RMB of retail sales of consumption goods, while increased by 13.8 percent over that of the previous year. Based on a random survey, the sales of famous international toy brands such as Hasbro, Lego, Chicco and etc. were expected to increase at least 10 percent during the festival.

Chinese Toys exports reduced in January 2009 |
The data of custom showed that in January 2009, China exported US$1.3 billion worth of toys, a decrease of 16 percent over the same period in 2008, especially the traditional toys decreased 14 percent. The decrease mainly caused by the financial crisis, buyers generally take a cautious attitude towards toy purchasing, while reduce the inventory.

| Chinese exhibitors achieved good effects on America International Toy Fair |
The Annual American International Toy Fair was hold at Javits Center, New York on February 15th-18th, 2009. At the financial crisis situation, China Toy Association organized the China Pavilion successfully again. These exhibitors displayed their products such as plush toys, wooden toys, baby articles, plastic and electronic toys, outdoors & sports articles, etc. They met more buyers than their expected at the Fair. Meanwhile, the international visitors expressed that they were satisfied with diversify services provide by CTA and it was helpful for them to choose qualified suppliers.

| The first flagship store of Barbie opened in China on March 6th |
Barbie Shanghai is the first flagship store of Barbie located in the central business district on Huaihai Road. Covering space of 3,500 square meters, Barbie Shanghai opened on March 6th, 2009. | CTE2009 attracts more qualified Chinese toy manufacturers |
To cope with the global finance crisis actively and help Chinese toy manufacturers increase their competitive advantages, CTA launched Toy Supplier Assessment Service for all Chinese toy factories.
