Benefit more by attending China Toy Expo 2009


With 512 exhibitors from nearly 20 countries and regions, China Toy Expo 2008 delivered the second - largest toy industry event in Asia. This year, the fair will once again present the newest products, ideas, and technologies of toys, hobby and baby articles in Shanghai on October 14-16.

It is no doubt that CTE 2009 has already confirmed to expand its scale with 650 exhibitors and most of them will be from toy production regions directly. To date, over 400 booths have been ordered, amounting to 33 percent increase in space compared to last year. Most of the product categories in 2008 and returning for 2009 will expected to be increased by nearly 25 percent such as Plush Toys, Wooden Toys, Educational Toys, Hobby, Baby Toys, etc.

Chinese Exhibitors are ready for upcoming International Toy Fairs

As the largest agent of Nurnberg Toy Fair and the sole agent of America International Toy Fair in China, China Toy Association continue to organize more leading Chinese toy manufacturers to join in both fairs, especially nearly 40 percent of them are new exhibitors this year. Since 70 percent of exhibitors are qualified toy factories, buyers will efficiently and cost-effectively find the suitable Chinese suppliers at the China Pavilion organized by CTA at both fairs. These Chinese manufacturers will display their new designs covering plush toys, wooden toys, hobby/model construction, baby articles, baby bicycles, plastic and electronic toys, dolls etc.

To convenient the visitors and buyers, CTA already prepared the "Buyer's Guide 2009 to China Pavilion" that listed exhibitors' details including name, booth number, toy categories, etc. Visitors could go to the CTA's info. desk to receive the Guide for free and will also click www.toys-yourlinktochina.org to know more about these Chinese exhibitors in advance.

The Sino-Japanese meeting on toy safety was held in Shenzhen


In early December 2008, the Sino-Japanese toy safety meeting was held in Shenzhen. As industry representative, CTA was invited to take part in this meeting. Experts from Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of P. R. C. (AQSIQ), Manufacturing Industries Bureau of Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan Toy Association spoke about ST-2002 standard on toys in Japan and CCC certification program in China.

In order to help Chinese toy manufacturers develop Japanese market, CTA communicated with Japanese representatives about safety supervision system and relevant standards on toys at the meeting.
 
Training program on Wooden Toy Designers was held successfully

From December 13th to 18th, 28 toy designers on Wooden Toys took part in training program on assistant designers and senior designers organized by CTA. It was the first time that training program on designers held in Huangyan County, which is one of the main production regions of wooden toys. These attendees are key person coming from local famous manufacturers, including Hongji Toys, Ruyi Industry and Muyi Export & Import, etc.

To date, there have been over 600 toy designers certified on plush toys, wooden toys, plastic toys, etc.
 
CTA emphasizes on building up stock of manpower on toy designers

Nearly 100 students took part in training program on assistant designers on plush toys from December 21st to 28th, 2008. These students were from Changsha Normal College and Hunan Vocational College of Science and Technology (VCST) in Hunan province.

At present, there has been over 20 colleges offer degrees in Toy Design. CTA is active to provide training programs among these colleges in order to improve practical skills of their students. Up to now, 6 colleges organized nearly 300 students participate in this toy designer training program.
 
Toys "R" Us has opened its 14th store in China

After opening its first flagship store in Shanghai in September 2006, Toys "R" Us continuously opened its stores in the provincial capital cities nearby Shanghai. At the end of 2008, Toys "R" Us started to expand its chain stores into Mainland China at faster pace. It opened 3 chain stores in December only. To date, there has been 14 stores opened in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Fuzhou, Wuxi and Nanjing etc. Toys "R" Us regarded Mainland China as one of the most important markets of its strategic investment.
