China Toy Expo 2008 continues to grow despite the global financial crisis |
The 7th International Trade Fair for Toys, Hobby & Baby Articles, which took place in Shanghai from 9 to 11 October 2008 and has recorded strong growth again.
• The number of Chinese visitors breaks 28,000 with growth rate of 26 percent.
• Fair effect proved by the increasing satisfaction proportion from both visitors and exhibitors.
• More famous buyers were still on schedule to visit the fair including ASI, Auchan, Carrefour, FNAC, Giant Tiger, King Jouet, Mattel, Pakson, RedCat, Target, Three Sixty, Toys “R” Us, Wal-Mart, Walt Disney and more.

Hot topics on seminars benefited visitors |
The CTE2008 held a comprehensive seminars program for both exhibitors and visitors and more than 1,000 attendants took part in seminars with great enthusiasm at the Expo.
The 360 Sourcing and ASI benefited from the seminar "International Purchasing meeting". The seminar helped them to contact with target suppliers directly. Through the seminar on topic "New Channels of Domestic Toy Retail", many exhibitors and visitors especially from overseas understood the tendency of current Chinese toy market, as well features and advantages of new channels of domestic toy retail. International brand licensors including Teletubbies, Miffy, Disney etc felt satisfied with seminars on "Cooperating with Brand Licensors", because they had achieved their goals to find more cooperators successfully at the Fair.
According to the survey of attendants at seminar, the audiences all appreciated the organizer for providing focused topics, since they not only made effective communications with industry experts, but got active feedback from expected exhibitors or buyers as well.

| Top industry leaders met on Toy Industry Conference |
As the greatest event of China toy industry, Toy Industry Conference 2008 attracted nearly 350 participants, including top management from manufacturers, government officials, industry experts and international industry delegates. Leaders from MOFCOM, AQSIQ and CNCA were invited to speak about Chinese economic development, dynamic changes in the toy industry, quality control and safety of toys.
The spotlight of the conference was the Interactive Salon on two special topics focused on export situation and domestic market. The representatives of buyers from Top-Toys, FNAC, Redcats and 360 Sourcing, top leaders from NPD, Toys “R” Us, Simba and speakers from different domestic sales channels all addressed a wonderful speech and exchanged their original ideas with attendants warmly.

| Chinese government issued raising tax rebates twice recently |
The export-oriented toy industry has been suffering from low profit margins amid the rise of the Chinese currency, domestic labor cost and raw material prices even before the global financial crisis worsened recently. Chinese government attached high importance to difficulties toy companies facing. In order to help China's toy industry go through the global slowdown, the Chinese government has taken favorable measures this year, by raising export rebates. On October, exporters of toys had been given rebates ranging from 11 percent to 14 percent. Government will issue another raising tax rebate again in November this year. |

| Chinese Exhibitors are ready for Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair 2009 |
Nearly 200 Chinese manufactures organized by China Toy Association are ready to attend Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair on January 5th -8th, 2009. They will display their new designs covering plush toys, wooden toys, Christmas products, hobby/model construction, baby articles, plastic and electronic toys, outdoor toys & sports accessories etc. Visitors are welcome to visit most of these Chinese exhibitors at Hall 5, Hall 7 and could get more information in detail at CTA’s booth at No. 7N02 in Hall 7.

| CTA held training program on product safety management with senior managers from toy manufactures |
There were over 50 senior managers of toy manufactures participated in training program on toy safety management from November 10th to 14th and became the Certified Toy safety management engineers. This program is launched by both Ministry of Labor and Social Security and China National Light Industry Council. China Toy Association (CTA) is authorized to implement this program to all toy managers and safety engineers. The main purpose of the program is encouraging toy companies to develop products safety and accrediting qualified toy safety management engineers. |

| International buyers welcome “Toys Made in China” |
"Toys made in china", issued by China Toy Association (CTA) in September 2008, is aiming at helping buyers worldwide to purchase Chinese toys efficiently. This catalogue of China Toys collects reliable toy manufacturers and their latest products.
The printed Catalogues and CD-ROMs were delivered free to buyers at China Toy Expo and Canton Fair. As an effective sourcing channel, it received positive responses from international buyers. Following Canton Fair, important distribution platforms at the beginning of next year are Hong Kong Toy Fair, Nuremberg International Toy Fair and New York Toy Fair. More quality suppliers are to be included into the revised version. Buyers are welcomed to get free issues at China Pavilions organized by CTA at those international toy fairs.
