A look back at 2016 fair

-International brands of the shows grew 30%
-International buyers up 12%, driven by strong growth of Europe and Latin America visitors, rising 25 percent over levels of a year ago. Pre-school & Educational toy buyers saw significant increase.
 


A total attendance of more than 65,467 visitors from more than 130 countries and regions and 1,700 global exhibitors took part in China Toy Expo, China Kids Expo and China Licensing Expo, which successfully closed its three-day run at Shanghai New International Expo Centre on October 21, 2016.


Organized by China Toy & Juvenile Products Association (TJPA), and co-organized with Koelnmesse for China Kids Expo, the expos this year were extended to 155,000sqm, remain the biggest toy and baby articles trade fair in Asia by the exhibition scale.
  











 


"China has huge market for baby articles and toys because the two-child policy is open now. Many international brands are trying to expand their market share in these areas, and they began to recognize this show the better option for them, as here they can always meet the major sales agents, distributors, chain stores and the customers they want. The feedback we have received from both visitors and exhibitors are very encouraging." said May Liang, the President of China Toy & Juvenile Products Association (TJPA).


Over 500 International brands from 20 countries and regions
The shows 2016 had welcomed nearly 500 international brands, which included LEGO, Barbie, Transformers, Chicco, Fisher Price, Britax, Inglesina, AVENT, Maxi-Cosi, Quinny, Combi, Kiddy, Pigeon, NUK etc, covering more than 20 countries and regions. Furthermore, the shows also drew a total of 7 international exhibition groups from US, Germany, Canada, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong.


 


 


 

“We are exhibiting at China Toy Expo for many times. It is the great platform for us to upgrade the products brand visualization and also to transmit the importance of toys safety. We will attend next year for sure and will bring more new products here.” said Chen, General Manager of LEGO China.


Export-ready manufacturers reached new high
An important feature of China Toy Expo & China Kids Expo is the direct attendance of the greatest number of Chinese manufacturers. Among the new exhibitors this year, 90% of them were Chinese manufacturers. Totally 80% of the Chinese exhibitors were export-ready in 2016. Nearly 20 production regions such as Chenghai, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Shenzhen, Jinjiang in South China, Kunshan, Ningbo, Pinghu, Cixi, Baoying, Yongjia and Yunhe in East China, Pingxiang, Gaomi and Qingdao in North China etc organized local toy and baby products factories to showcase their latest products


These manufacturers, big or small, take international orders, and have high reliability and capability for product innovation and quality control to satisfy global buyers various demands. And more importantly, many of them are new exhibitors and have never exhibited in any other trade events before. It is the only show in China where you can meet all.

More new exhibitors and products- the best platform to source innovative products for 2017
The expansion of exhibition scale brings more new exhibitors the chance to participate in the trade fair to showcase their latest products. Of all the toy and baby products exhibitors this year, 38% are new. New exhibitors and new products have made the shows even more attractive and more buyers to return.

Overseas buyers maintained continuous growth
The direct attendance of large number of manufacturers & factories draw more attention from overseas buyers to the event, with 12% growth this year, attributed to the strong increase of buyers from Asian and Americas' countries, including America, Korea, Japan, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, and Russia.




 


The international visitors were major toy and baby products distributors, importers, wholesaler and retail chains, such as Carrefour, GIFI from France, Walmart, 7th Sense Toys, kohburg, Popular Playthings, VERDES TOYS CORP, Montessori Outlet, Brian's Toys from the United States, Metr Plus from Ukraine, NISHIMATSUYA chains, WILL, ZACCA SIZO from Japan, and Education Essentials, Kiddimoto from UK etc.

 


More Value-added services help overseas buyers to find right Chinese suppliers
This year, the organizer also took several effective measures to assist international buyers to find right suppliers. Such as the Business Matchmaking according to the buyers' need, the organizer held seven different kinds of on-site matchmaking, including Indoor and Outdoor Playground Equipment & Kindergarten Supplies and Facilities, Toys All Categories 1, Toys All Categories 2, Children’s Car Seats, Prams and Accessories, Ride-on Products and Baby Products All Categories 1.
